The World Games 2013 include Salsa Dance as a sport category
Friday, 25 January 2013 17:48Being the world capital of Salsa, Cali is also the headquarters of The World Games 2013 for this reason it is one of the competitions most waited for. A form of ballroom dancing on a competitive level in this sector will include the music which represents Cali, salsa.
Being the birthplace of the best salsa dancers and athletes, Cali is also extending in its culture and is increasing in the area of dancing salsa as a sport. The sport dance is considered as very elegant and synchronized in a harmonic manner. The sport has different categories which are:
1. Standard: English Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Quick Step, Fox trot and tango.
2. Latin: Samba, Rumba, Cha cha cha, Paso Doble and Jive.
The Dance Sport competitions will be held in the Cañaveralejo Bullfight ring delighting guest and tourist with European rhythm. The Salsa Sport achieves a combination of technique, coordination, timing, expression, and physical ability.
Salsa is the third category in the competition of the sport event and consists a bit of Pachanga, Mambo and Boogaloo. In Cali 2007 the “Liga Vallecaucana” was founded where people professionals assist national and internationals sport dance.
The World Games 2013 reported that seven official recognized clubs are going to be used for competitors to perform their dance styles. We are waiting with happiness and excitement for this great competition to happen.
