In a news conference that took place at Club Colombia restaurant of Bogotá – Colombia hosted the launch and presentation of the official mascot of The World Games 2013 Cali, BICHOFUÉ GRITÓN.

The official mascot of this sport event which will be the most important in 2013 and that makes proud all of Colombia, is called BICHOFUÉ. Bichofué is a yellow bird with a black mask, that is part of the of flora and fauna diversity that the host cityhas and will attend the 170 opening ceremonies, awards and closing ceremonies during the 10 days of the event, from July 25^th until August4^th.

BICHOFUÉ was born in Cali, but it also shows the personality of millions of Colombians because of its happiness, good athletic abilities, is an enemy of violence, perfect host and friend of the world, who will be shown in its two versions: Woman and Man.

The launch of the official mascot of The World Games 2013, is an event that aimed to gain Colombia respect and recognition, competitiveness and to rescue passion for sports. The launch had the attendance of authorities of sport in the country as Coldeportes and Colombian Olympic Committee, Mr. Rodrigo Guerrero, Mayor of Cali, and the Local Organizing Committee, who presented to more of 70 people and the whole country via streaming on their website, the mascot which will accompany all public in the 26 venues of the Valle del Cauca capital.

Speed, precision and acumen of BICHOFUÉ represent us with pride. The selection of this bird reinforces the slogan of this multi-sport event, “Fair Play to the Planet", highlighting the biodiversity of the host city and searching to influence the commitment to the environment.
