The World Games 2013 Cali Advances

Last Friday February 22th the socialization of the CoCom’s results, took place at The Intercontinental Hotel Cali, during February 21 and 22, the president of the organization committee in Cali, Mr. Rodrigo Otoya and the president of the IWGA, Mr. Ron Froehlich were present at the meeting.
During these days all the advances made about The World Games’ 2013 local organization in the logistic aspect, sporting aspect and cultural aspect, also the evolution of the volunteering program and the way in that the organization works to prepare the city for the multisport event, were announced.
The IWGA (International World Games Association) was very satisfied with the development and the advances in general terms of the event. They thanked Coldeportes for the support that they are providing the organization and trust that the venues will be ready one month before of the event, which is a requirement of the organization.
The promotion and advertising of the event is planned in two stages, one that is getting done since January 2012 when was the launch of the event was made, that stage consisted in actively participating in all the city multitudinous events and giving out Frisbees at all the neighborhoods of Cali, about 4000 samples were delivered. The second phase is programmed since March of this year and begins with the diffusion in mass media, radio, television and press of The World Games’ 2013 official commercial, it will also be present at the Cine Colombia’s movies with a short film.
This multisport celebration for the country and the city becomes in an inclusive event for everyone, this due to the location of the venues, which are distributed in all the communes of the city, in that way all the citizens are able to go to the competitions.
The president of the COI, will attend the inaugural ceremony, which means a huge recognition to the country and also for the city, of their behalf. We are preparing to welcome a multisport event to a world level, the organization with the support of the Mayor work to supply all the requirements from every country and International Federations, like food, accommodation,among others, said the president of the organizing committee, Mr. Rodrigo Otoya.
The Tickets will have the prices that were agreed with the IWGA and will go on sale with anticipation. Likewise the mass media will have a press room; the news will be constantly updated in the official web, www.theworldgames2013.com.
The president of the IWGA, Mr. Ron Froehlich says that they want to include the Paralympics program in The World Games. He also made allusion to the first version in 1989 in Karlsruhe, Germany where disabled athletes of some of the sport disciplines competed.
